Planning Events
Our Campus Life team External Events Chair is currently brainstorming ideas for an upcoming Virtual Gala. Currently, this gala will look like a 3 hour-long combination of videos and live streams to make the end of this virtual school year commemorable. So far, the idea of setting the theme of this virtual gala is, "Celebrating the Resilience of NYC," to deliver a sense of community for students.
Alumni Relations
The Alumni Affairs Representative has worked to bring together current GS students and their Alumni. During the fall, two career-focused alumni events were held, focusing on careers in finance and consulting. This spring semester, more discussion panels are underway and they are in discussions with the administration about moving forward with programming further for this semester focusing on both promoting new majors and addressing senior concerns about graduating into this job market.
International Student Relations
- Summer: Worked with GS administration to convey student concerns and coordinate response to DHS immigration guideline changes. Communicated ISSO updates to GS international student community.
- Fall: Gathered feedback from students on distance learning and academic concerns, surfaced to Deans Rosen-Metsch and Rodgers. Currently working with CCE to develop a workshop/panel (or potentially a semester-long program) to support international students in their post-graduation job-search, to be launched in Spring.
- Upcoming: Looking into establishing a survey or reporting mechanism for international students to submit and document their experiences with professors this semester.

Community Service & Sustainability
Jewish Theological Seminary
The JTS Rep on the student council has worked on curating several Interfaith panels to bring together different religions and bridge them together throughout the GS community during the pandemic.
Senior Class
Along with hosting fun game nights, the Senior team has worked to make a First Year-Senior mixer. As well, curating on-going plans for panel discussions with the Alumni team to address the concerns of the Class of 2021 following graduation. Overall, they are focusing their efforts on the Spring and making plans for graduation, the senior gift, and other ways to support our seniors throughout this chaotic time.
First-Year Class
The First Year Class Leaders have worked on several mixers to get incoming Columbia students connected with the rest of their GS community. In other efforts to bring together the First Year Class, they've been attending different meet and greets to welcome the new incoming class and have been curating the newsletter for the first year class.
